Statement of Faith
1. The Bible is composed of the 39 Old Testament books and 27 New Testament books. The Bible is inspired by God and without error in its original writings.
2. There is one God who eternally exists in three equal persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
3. God created all things including mankind, both male and female. Men and women are uniquely created in the image of God. In their original state, mankind enjoyed a personal and intimate relationship with God, but sinned, bringing spiritual and physical death. Everyone is born sinful, and therefore deserves eternal punishment.
4. God the Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, to save mankind from the eternal punishment that they deserve, by dying on a cross for sinners.
5. After Jesus died he was laid in a tomb, and on the third day the Spirit raised him to life. He ascended into heaven, and now sits at His Father’s right hand.
6. Every person must ask God for forgiveness of sin and believe in Jesus Christ in order to pass from death to life. Jesus is Lord, and salvation is found in no other name but His.
7. The church is a group of believers who gather for prayer, the proclamation of truth, and worship. Local churches share a common life and common mission, and are obligated to accomplish together what they cannot achieve on their own.
8. Jesus Christ will return one day to judge both the living and the dead. Believers will live in God’s presence forever, and those who reject Christ will face eternal punishment.
